During the March meeting the group welcomed two new members and long membership certificates were handed out to three ladies one of which had clocked up an amazing forty years with the W.I.
Our speaker for the evening was Mark Price from H.K.J. Martial Arts Club who gave a talk on personal protection. Mark told the group that if an attack occurs then the law states that we are able to use reasonable force in order to defend ourselves. He then went in to further details including a question and answer session to clarify what is meant by reasonable force.
Following this Mark and his colleague Terry Hudson demonstrated some self defence moves which were carried out in a humerous way and caused much laughter from the group. After the presentation each member received a safety pack to include an attack alarm, a safety money bag and various leaflets giving advice and useful telephone numbers.
The guild meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.15 pm. The venue is Golborne Parkside sports club on Rivington Ave and the next meeting will be held on Wed 1st April. The speaker is Tod Bulmer who will talk about 400 years of Kenyon Hall farm.
New members are always welcome.
