Proud mum Jaqueline Collins is so excited to hear that daughter Elizabeth has been accepted to join a select group of students from all over the world, representing their schools, communities and countries at the People to People leadership summit at John Hopkins University in Baltimore on the 21st of June 2009.
Elizabeth was originally nominated by her school Lowton High, to attend a People to People Leadership summit in America last year and was accepted based on her outstanding scholastic merit and leadership potential.
Students work on an action plan to make a difference in their communities and develop skills to help them lead tomorrow’s world. Participants also gain insights to guide their educational and professional careers (Elizabeth would like to be a GP).
The programme is coordinated by People to People Ambassador Programmes to fulfil the vision President D. Eisenhower had for fostering world citizenship when he founded People to People during his presidency in 1956. For additional information please visit www.lsleaders.org
